August 19th MLB Fun Fact: It’s August 2012, you’ve just come home from riding your bike around the neighborhood with friends. Malaika Underwood, who started the scoring with her run in the second, went 5-for-5 with a triple, a double, four runs scored and three RBI. Stacy Piagno retired 15 of the first 17 batters she faced to earn the win.
On August 19, 2012, we’re at the end of the World Cup. The game is for Gold, Japan versus USA. Japan came back and defended their title, the US lost in a complete shutout. Yukari Isozaki becomes the game MVP with 7 hits. However, it was the best US finish since 2006.

We decided to switch it up on y’all. Sometimes there’s just too many good things going around the league. As we all know, New York City has been deemed “the place to be” and man it was on Wednesday night. First in Queens, rookie Brett Baty decided to hit a first swing, first hit home run. His family’s reaction says it all. Over in the Bronx, a nice subway ride away, Donaldson brought a much needed win to the Yankees with a walk-off grand slam.
